We have updated our settings to provide you with a cleaner, simpler experience of setting up your entities on Syft. Whether you're a single entity or consolidation, here's what you need to know.
Entity settings are no longer located in the left sidebar. Instead, everything has been migrated to the admin centre you can access by clicking on the profile button on the top right of the screen.
You can also access these settings by clicking on the three dot (…) menu next to an entity’s name.
We are updating our settings to provide you with a cleaner, simpler experience of setting up your entities on Syft. Now, when you open the Options (the three dot) menu next to your entity's name, you'll see a neat array of settings falling into the following categories:
General
Currency
Layouts
Tax
And, if you are in a consolidation, you will also see:
Consolidation settings
Org structure
Updates to user permissions
Users who do not have access to invite other users (in the admin centre or the user section) can still invite users by clicking on the three dot menu next to the entity’s name and selecting “Manage users”. You can then either:
Add an existing user (someone who is already on Syft); or
Invite a new user.
Updates to consolidation settings
We have introduced new Consolidation Settings within the Entity Settings pop-up. This ensures parity with the previous Entity Settings experience and guarantees that no functionality is lost in the consolidation process. You can now manage consolidation-related configurations directly within the centralised settings view.
Most notably, for consolidations, we've changed how you access disposal and acquisition dates. To do this, navigate to Entity Settings > Consolidation settings. You can then click on "Set acquisition/disposal dates" to set these up.
Note 📝: If you have a segment entity, you will also see a section for the specific divisions out of which your segment is comprised.
Updates to tax settings (VAT/GST)
We have refined the VAT/GST configuration experience with a new tooltip that slides out for improved visibility and usability. Furthermore, VAT/GST pay dates are clearly specified within the settings, bringing the tax configuration flow in line with the experience you have come to expect, while improving clarity and interaction design.
Closing thoughts 💭
This may be a simpler change but its impact is far-reaching. The Options menu is your one-stop shop for all the elements that are critical to the makeup of your entities on Syft Analytics. I hope you'll enjoy this new seamless experience.
