We’ve added total columns to Budgets and Forecasts in Syft, making it easier to understand performance at a glance.
Until now, reviewing a budget or forecast often meant scanning across individual periods and manually working out the bigger picture. With total columns, you can now see rolled-up values alongside your detailed period data, helping you assess performance faster and with more confidence.
Why this matters
Budgets and forecasts are most useful when they help you make decisions quickly. Total columns give you a clearer summary view, so you can:
quickly understand performance across a broader period
reduce the time spent manually adding up values across months or weeks
move between detailed planning and high-level review without losing context
What you can expect
With total columns, your budgets and forecasts become easier to use as both planning tools and reporting tools. You still have your detailed period-by-period view, but now you also get a simple rolled-up total to support faster analysis.
You also have the ability to create custom configurations to meet your specific needs. For example, you might choose to view your totals every five months or seven months.
This is especially helpful when you want to:
review how your business is tracking overall, not just month by month
spot whether performance is broadly on track against expectations
share clearer planning views with colleagues or clients
Part of the bigger picture
This update is part of the broader evolution of Budgets and Forecasts in Syft. As we continue improving these features, our goal is to make planning more flexible, more intuitive, and more connected to the rest of your reporting workflow.
Total columns are a small change with a big impact: less manual work, clearer summaries, and faster insight when reviewing your numbers.
