Based on feedback from hundreds of Syft customers, we've completely overhauled our Forecast feature. The moment has finally arrived: introducing Forecasts 2.0. This brand-new tool offers everything you need, from a simple and intuitive interface to complex customizations.
What's new π§
Get ready for a completely redesigned experience! Our new forecasting tool offers:
A smooth, user-friendly interface
Enhanced support for working capital management and credit sales
Effortless forecast adjustments for potential events, with the ability to better manage multiple adjustments per account
These improvements provide greater visibility into your adjustments, more tailored options, and highly customizable setup features.
Get started π
We've added a new button called "Planning" to the sidebar, where you'll find both Forecasts and Budgets. From here, you can create a new forecast, choosing from a variety of period configurations:
Monthly: for up to 10 years
Weekly: for up to 52 weeks
Annual: for up to 10 years
You can then populate your forecast, adding percentage changes over time. And, if you want to create a forecast for a specific branch or revenue stream within your organization, you can filter for divisions.
Pro Tip π‘: To customize your forecast, use the Advanced options menu. Here, you can specify details for your credit/cash setup or adjust the percentage changes for particular profit or loss categories.
Population options π¨
Populate your forecast exactly as you see fit, choosing from the following options:
Prior last year (add a percentage change): this uses the values from the same period in the prior year (so, if you are in August 2025, this will mean August 2024) as a base while increasing/decreasing them by a percentage of your choice
Prior (add a percentage change): this uses the values from the prior period (so, if you are in August 2025, this will mean July 2025) as a base while increasing/decreasing them by a percentage of your choice
Zeros: this populates the whole forecast with zero (0) values
Specify default accounts to be included in your forecast to make it quick and easy to allocate changes to the appropriate contra account.
What's included in the forecast? π
Your forecast is built across several financial statements and reports:
The Profit & Loss
The Balance Sheet
Cash Flow Statements
KPI Scorecards
Connections
You can then add Events to account for potential scenarios that could take place over the forecast period.
π‘ Pro Tip: Whether you prefer speed or customization, our Event options cater to your needs. Choose from convenient pre-built events or design your own custom ones. You can also manually override any account value.
Gain better insights with clear visualizations π
The new Summary page provides a high-level overview of key metrics, trends, and insights from your forecast data, visualized in two graphs.
You can customize your account watch list to focus on vital accounts. For example, you can add water usage to the summary view to monitor and avoid overspending.
Additionally, the forecast tables allow you to highlight changes and show variances between forecasted and actual figures, offering a clear view of your business performance against expectations.
