Our Anomalies feature detects information that appears out of place in your financials and brings it to your attention. You can then review this data and decide if it needs to be amended or investigated further. This is one of the most beloved features within the Review add-on, and, as such, we've been working to improve the look, feel, and functionality to take your review process to the next level.

Read on for all the details.

Where is this feature? πŸ”Ž

If you aren't familiar with Anomalies, you can find this section within Review. Once in Anomalies, you can review unexpected transactions within the following categories:

  • Health: an overall summary of the anomalies in your data represented in the form of a scorecard.

  • Classification: a grouping of transactions according to their balances, debit or credit status, descriptions, or values.

  • Variances: a representation of account movements and variances that deviate from expected values or volumes

  • Multi-assigned: contacts with transactions assigned to multiple accounts or multiple tax codes.

The Classification, Variances, and Multi-assigned sub-tabs are used to calculate each anomaly's Health score.

What's new? 🧐

The new version of Review: Anomalies includes all your favorite Anomalies features but in a much sleeker, more user-friendly form. Some of the latest additions to the feature include the following:

  • A new Value tab under Classifications that lets you set thresholds for anomalous assets below and expenses above

  • Hover graphs on trends in variance tables to help you visualize the information

  • Reworked dismissal logic to keep track of which users are dismissing what data

Note πŸ“: As a result of the new dismissal feature, all current dismissals in Anomalies will be reset.

Closing thoughts πŸ’

Keeping tabs on anomalous data is vital as it pertains to ensuring that the financial information you're working with is accurate and reliable. After all, you don't want to be generating reports and forecasts based on transactions that have been misallocated. With Syft's latest updates, it's never been so easy to review and amend transactions that are out of place. So, if you haven't had a look at the feature, why not give it a gander?
