You can now include a totals column for every calendar year in your Budgets and Forecasts. This was a highly requested change, and we are happy to say it's finally arrived. But that's not all!

We've also improved the ease of setting up Budgets and Forecasts by enabling you to configure their Layouts within the features themselves. This means you no longer have to go to a specific Layout configuration to set up the Chart of Accounts layout for your Forecast or Budget, saving you a lot of time and energy.

What's new 🧐

One of the key enhancements is the ability to add total columns to Budgets or Forecasts during creation or editing. This feature empowers you to easily track your total sales for the budgeted period or other critical total amounts, enhancing your financial analysis capabilities.

Note πŸ“: This mimics the behavior in downloads: only monthly forecasts or budgets can add them, and they appear every 12 months.

Moreover, Forecasts and Budgets now have their own saved layout configuration for hiding or showing line items.

Note πŸ“: This is shared across the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet in the item and is initially set to the default layout's configuration. As such, changing the applied layout only affects the rows' structure.

Last but not least, populating a Forecast with a Budget now applies to the Balance Sheet too.

Closing thoughts πŸ’

With the inclusion of totals columns for every calendar year in Budgets and Forecasts, along with the integration of configuration options directly into these features, we've listened to your feedback and delivered enhancements that promise greater ease and efficiency.

The ability to add total columns during creation or editing empowers deeper financial analysis, while the saved layout configurations for Forecasts and Budgets ensure consistency and flexibility in viewing your data. We're excited about these improvements and look forward to seeing how they further empower your financial planning and analysis endeavors.
