We caught up with Claire Grimes from Paper Plane to find out how the practice integrated with Syft Analytics.

Paper Plane was founded in 2014. This creative business service has developed over the years by focussing their attention on clients who are compliant and driven to run a successful business. The practice supports Xero accounting software.

The Corona virus pandemic has affected the practice as well as their clients but Paper Plane is determined to keep supporting their clients in their business decisions where they can. The way the Australian Government has implemented financial support to businesses has been complicated for the average business owner. A large number of Paper Plane's clients have been shut down or have reduced trading as many of them are in the hospitality or personal services industries. In the first week of the Australian lockdown, Paper Plane processed 140 payroll terminations. There has been widespread ending of employment as businesses struggle to retain staff.

Paper Plane is providing amazing support to their clients during these difficult economic times and are continuing to offer advice to their clients even when they are unable to pay right away.

We asked them a host of questions to see how their on-boarding with Syft progressed and why they chose Syft as the solution for their reporting requirements:

How many months/years have you been using Syft?

"18 months."

How long did it take you to get it set up and familiar with the feature set?

"2 months - had great support from your team."

What was your reporting process before Syft?

"Manual with spreadsheets - terrible!"

What problem or pain point were you trying to solve with Syft?

"Efficiency and accuracy. Being able to have more team members access and run the software to share the end of month workload."

Which features do you like the most and why?

"The executive summary - putting it in to simple words for our clients is invaluable. Very excited about benchmarking once the data gets wider as more people connect."

Note πŸ“: The executive summary is now called AI commentary.

Which feature do you believe your clients get the most value from?

"The graphs."

How do you use Syft and what benefits have you seen for your clients and your practice?

"We use Syft to produce management reports at an affordable price for businesses that previously would not have had access to this kind of information. And we can do this due to the ease of using the software and being able to produce them in a quick turn around to keep our costs down, and the cost to the client."

Do you charge your clients for Syft's report pack?

"Yes, we charge."

How much do you charge on the low and high end?

  • Starter Report: $75 per month

  • Detailed Monthly reports: $295 per month

  • Board Pack / Quarterly Comprehensive Reports: $495 per month

Anything else about Syft you would like to share?

"I'm very surprised more people don't know about this software (I tell everyone I can!). I am looking forward to spending more time within the software learning the full functionality and then showcasing this to our clients. We are not currently using it to full capacity and it is a goal for our business for 2020 to make Syft reports our standard across all clients."

Thanks so much for sharing your insights and experience with us, Claire. We look forward to continuing this partnership with you and your team.
