First thing's first - what is Syft Assist AI? Syft Assist AI is a powerful AI-driven feature that can be found across Syft Analytics. You can use it to highlight trends, provide in-depth insights, and even make suggestions to set you on the road to success.

Syft Assist AI is a favorite feature of many Syft users because it helps you to:
Uncover critical insights from your data
Interpret the figures making up your graphs and reports
Pinpoint key trends
Make pivotal decisions to improve your business performance
Moreover, by using this AI-powered tool, you can save a lot of time on summarizing pertinent information and explaining features to clients or colleagues. The time saved can then be invested into higher value offerings, such as advisory services. As Johann Goree, Group Managing Director of the Onpoint accounting group, says in our Accelerating Advisory with AI Masterclass:

1. Dive into dashboard details ✨
When consulting your daily dashboard, you may have some questions about the data you see in a specific card. If you look closely, you'll see there's a little "AI" button in the middle of each card. If you click on that button for the card in question, Syft will begin generating AI insights for that card.
For instance, when I click on my Client satisfaction card, Syft Assist AI summarizes the data as follows:
The graph shows client satisfaction levels, indicating a 100.0% decrease. Previously, the satisfaction balance was 55 last year. The chart displays fluctuating satisfaction levels across various periods, with a noticeable drop at the end. Overall, there's a significant decline in client satisfaction compared to the previous year's balance.
So, what can I do with this information? Well, it clearly pinpoints a problem with client satisfaction in my business. What has gone so wrong that I've had a 100% decrease since last year? And why did this measure fluctuate so much over the course of the year? This warrants an investigation on my side into what caused my clients to be so unhappy so that I can change the approach to clients and turn this number around. Perhaps we had a faulty product that lots of clients returned or poor customer service. This is something I would need to uncover as soon as possible and find a way to remedy.
Pro tip 💡: Once you've looked at the AI-generated summary, you can also copy it by clicking on the clipboard icon and share them with relevant parties.
2. Suggest ways to improve 🪄
Analyzing your data isn't just about finding out what the metrics mean; it's about determining ways to act on it so that you can improve your business. However, this is often easier said than done. Luckily, Syft Assist AI has a neat feature that empowers you to ask our AI engines to recommend areas in which you could improve. Simply click "Suggest ways to improve" and Syft Assist will give you some suggestions.
For example, when I asked how I could improve my restaurant, based off my daily dashboard, Syft Assist AI had a lot of suggestions. Here are the first three:
Client Satisfaction (↓ 100%)
Customer Feedback:
Implement regular surveys and encourage online reviews. Use feedback to address specific issues.
Experience Enhancement:
Consider hosting themed nights or introducing new menu items to keep the dining experience fresh.

Introduce bonuses for performance to motivate employees and recognize hard work.

All of these are suggestions that I could implement in my restaurant to improve my performance in specific areas. I may decide that some of them sound more practical than others. Perhaps I don't have enough staff or resources to host themed nights or new menu items, but I may want to take on board the idea of asking guests to fill in surveys or provide me with online reviews to see how to improve or to hopefully attract more clients thanks to good reviews on Google.
Perhaps offering loyalty points or discounts on certain days could also work hand in glove with this approach. And by training my employees, this may help them to be more engaged with clients. These are all ideas I can consider and use as a starting point - a guideline rather than a manual.

3. Create a summary for an email 📧
Another way you can use Syft Assist AI is by clicking on the AI button at the top right of the screen and selecting the option "Create a summary for an email." This will then open a dialogue box at the right of your screen with content for an email to your client summarizing the data in your report. For instance, when I generated a recap from my Profit & Loss, I received the following:

Extraordinary Increase in Tips: Up by £3,179.47 (+204.2%), indicating a positive customer response amid the holiday season.
Surge in Advertising Expenses and Professional Fees: Advertising Fees increased to £3,300 (+135.7%) and Professional Fees to £15,000 (+484.3%), aligned with promotional activities and year-end adjustments.
Reduction in Total Expenses: Although actual expenses increased by £5,642.55 (+7.9%), contributions like Printing & Stationery saw a drastic decline (£-10,000) balancing out costs.
Substantial Improvement in Surplus: A rise to £33,441.53 from £13,063.55, a 156% increase, largely due to high Sundry and Management Income juxtaposed with strategic cost management initiatives.

This takes a lot of pain out of the process of writing an email and condensing the information contained within the relevant report. However, I would always recommend that you double-check everything contained within the summary email draft. Although AI is super powerful, it isn't perfect and you always want to ensure that everything is 100% right before sharing with colleagues, clients, or other stakeholders. That said, the time it takes to fact-check Syft Assist AI's work should be far less than the time it would take to generate a summary by yourself.
